The brothers of the Lambda Chi Alpha fraternity will partner with the sisters of the Delta Delta Delta sorority on May 8th to throw Cornell University’s first Watermelon Bash.  Taking place on Appel Fields from 4:00 to 7:00pm, the event will consist of intense team and individual competitions, all involving everyone’s favorite plus-sized fruit: watermelon.  Contests will include a greased watermelon relay, a watermelon toss, and of course, a watermelon eating contest.

The Watermelon bash is an event that has been informally adopted by dozens of Lambda Chi Alpha chapters across the country for various causes and benefactors.  This May, proceeds from the event will go to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital, the national philanthropic partner of the Tri Delta sorority and the Global Youth Concept.

Admission for the event will be $5 per person and teams will consist of 4-8 people.  Greek, non-Greek varsity sport and club teams are expected to attend.

Those interested should contact Lambda Chi Alpha Philanthropy Chair Ben Figoten if interested in participating or donating.  Join the event Facebook group for more information.

Delta Delta Delta
is holding their annual Designer Accessory Sale on Saturday, April 24th from 2:00-5:00pm at Theta Delta Chi ("Thumpty") house located at 800 University Avenue.

They will be offering designer labels at 20-75% of their original price. The designer labels include: Botkier, Burberry, Chanel, Dior, Dolce & Gabbana, Fendi, Gucci, Herve Chapelier, Jimmy Choo, Longchamp, Lori Bonn, Marc Jacobs, Prada, Tods, Tom Ford, Valentino, and YSL.

The Designer Accessory Sale is one of their main philanthropy events that they hold to enhance their national partnership with St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital.

St. Jude is one of the world’s premier pediatric cancer research centers. Its mission is to find cures for children with cancer and other catastrophic diseases through research and treatment. Founded by Danny Thomas in 1962, St. Jude embraces the dream that “no child should die in the dawn of life,” and advocates have worked tirelessly in order to advance that mission.

TriDelta is proud to work with such a trustworthy and noble organization. Through events like the Designer Accessory Sale, the chapter has raised over $25,000 dollars in the past year to support St. Jude.

We appreciate any support in our efforts!
